Giving

Giving is a big part of all of us, but we tend to think about it more during the holidays, especially during the week of Thanksgiving.  I'd like to suggest a giving option that you may not have considered.  Life.  In the form of blood.  I know there are reasons some people can't give - medications, travel destinations, etc.  But those of you that can, please take the time to consider it.  I try to get in every 8 weeks (it usually ends up being more like 10-12).  You don't get paid, it takes an hour of your time, you get a needle stuck in your arm...I'm just telling it like it is.  Picture the face of the child whose mom you just saved, or the dad whose little boy needs it.  Can you imagine needing blood to survive?  Or a family member needing blood?  Wouldn't you feel differently about the gift if you were on the other end of it?  Wouldn't you well up with appreciation for those who took the time to give of themselves?

I choose the Red Cross.  But there are other organizations that do it too.  Take the time to look into it and consider giving what no money ever could.

  1. I can't, vampires don't have blood. I'll have to think of something else.
